POSITION OVERVIEW                                           

Will work at the Baghdad Diplomatic Support Center (BDSC) in Baghdad, Iraq on the BLiSS contract performing maintenance, service, and repair on security screening equipment including Smiths Detection HiScan x-ray systems and Rapiscan Walk through Metal Detectors (WTMDs).  Will perform operator level training on the Smiths Detection HiScan system.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

Attend various weekly meetings with the customer and program management.
Plan and implement a routine maintenance and service schedule on security screening equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
Acquire and maintain yearly certification on the Smiths Detection HiScan x-ray systems
Perform operator and supervisor level training on the Smiths Detection HiScan x-ray system.  Users range from US military and contractors to Iraqi and 3rd country nationals.
Maintain a list of spare parts and work with program management to submit purchase requests for parts when needed
Complete and submit daily site reports and other reports as needed
Perform monthly inventory of systems and parts

Complete monthly quality assurance checks, self-audits, and audits with the government customer

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education

High School diploma
Associate or BS degree in technical field is a plus

Experience

One year of experience working on x-ray scanning systems (preferably Smiths Detection but other systems such as Rapiscan are fine)
One year experience working in Iraq or Afghanistan as a contractor
Training experience is a plus

Training Requirements

Smiths Detection HiScan Technical Certification
Smiths Detection HiScan Train the Trainer Certification

Specialized Knowledge/Skills Requirements

The HiScan Technician must understand:

Smiths Detection HiScan x-ray equipment
Rapiscan Walk through metal detector equipment
Biometric experience is a plus

Working Conditions

Will live and work on a US Department of State post in Baghdad Iraq.  Food, housing, and other amenities are provide by the contract.  Will work on equipment located on post and at the Iraqi customs warehouse at the Baghdad International Airport (BIAP).  Work week is Sunday – Thursday 8am – 4pm and on call during off hours.
